A repository of the works of our prematurely departed Colleague, Dr Jędrzej Gadziński (1985-2020) has been made available on the Faculty Website. Dr Gadziński had been affiliated with our Faculty since 2004, first as a student of two majors: spatial management (specialisation in regional development) and geography (specialisation in shaping the natural environment), and then as a PhD student and researcher in the Department of Economic Geography (the former Department of Regional Policy and European Integration). His PhD dissertation entitled: ‘Functioning of a local transport system against the contemporary urbanisation processes in the Poznań agglomeration’ was written under the supervision of Prof. Tadeusz Stryjakiewicz (the doctoral thesis defence took place in 2013; the dissertation was distinguished and published in the same year). His main scientific interests embraced the issue of urban and regional transport, its impact on the natural environment and challenges related to urbanisation processes in Polish cities. He was a highly talented and active scholar and academic, a winner of many awards and distinctions, a manager and participant of several research grants, an expert of the National Science Centre, a member of numerous associations and scientific organisations, author of several dozen high-scoring and frequently quoted articles and chapters in monographs as well as scientific and practical expert assessments. He was also an extremely kind Colleague, always willing to help others.
