From 10th to 14th of December 2018, Dr Maria Gunko from the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow visited our Institute. The purpose of the visit was to establish the cooperation with the researchers from our Institute in the field of study related to the process of urban shrinkage. As part of the visit on December 14th, Dr Maria Gunko gave a lecture entitled: “Planning for urban shrinkage in Eastern Europe: evidence of small and medium-sized cities” and presented the main problems and challenges related to the shrinkage of small and medium-sized cities in Russia.

From 10th to 14th of December 2018, we were visited by dr Valērijs Skribans from the Riga Technical Institute. He delivered two lectures on “Latvian national economy overview” and „Russian embargo crisis influence on Latvia”. The visit also created an opportunity for establishing scientific cooperation.
