The book is devoted to modern services introduced against the background of changes in the service activities. This is an attempt to define the role of modern services in socio-economic development in the era of a knowledge-based economy.
The analysis of the service development is presented at various spatial levels—in the system of the EU countries, at the regional level of Poland (voivodeships) and in Wielkopolskie Voivodeship.
These issues constitute an important trend of research in the world literature and are part of the ongoing theoretical discussion on structural changes in services, development of new services and service innovation.
